    • THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23RD: BUILDER CONTINUING COMPETENCY TRAINING: A 3 hour Continuing Competency training session for Builders and Maintenance & Alteration contractors as required by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs for license renewal will take place at the Livingston County Building Department in Howell at 2pm.     • THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23RD: FASHION SHOW TO BENEFIT LACASA AT HHS: Howell High School Fashion Club is putting on a fashion show fundraiser for LACASA. They will feature prom dress and tuxes at the Opera House, doors open at 5:30pm the show starts at 7. Admission is $5 per person and all proceeds go to LACASA. There will also be food and raffles including a free tux and a free photography session from LB photography.
    • FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH: FISH FRY AT LCWCC: All you can eat fish fry will be held on Friday, February 24th, at the Livingston County Wildlife and Conservation Club, 6060 E. M-36, Hamburg. Serving from 5-8pm, dinner includes: beer batter, lemon pepper and Cajun fish (baked or fried), smelt, hush puppies, mac n' cheese, french fries, sides and drinks. Adults $10, seniors $9. ages 6-12 $5, under age 5 are free. Cash bar available, call 810-231-1811 for more info.
    • FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH: ST. PAT'S PARADE FUNDRAISER COMEDY SHOW AT CAPTAIN JOE'S: St Pat's Parade Fundraiser Comedy Show at Captain Joe's in Whitmore Lake in February 24th. The fundraiser for the Pinckney St Patrick's Day Parade, to be held on March 11th. Comedy Show Tickets $20, call Patsy Dible to Reserve tickets at 810-599-5884.
    • SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25TH: PINCKNEY MUSIC DEPARTMENT DINNER: Join all 5th - 12th grade band and orchestra students on Saturday, February 25th for an afternoon of spaghetti and music. This event will run from 1:30pm-6:30pm. Dinner tickets will be sold at the door for $10. If you just want to watch the concert a $3 donation is suggested. This is a scholarship fundraiser.
    • SATURDAY FEBRUARY 25TH: SNOWSHOE SPECTACULAR: Snowshoe Spectacular for ages 5 and over is is February 25th. Join Brighton Community Education and Heavner Canoe and for an unforgettable snowshoe hike around the beautiful winter landscapes at Brighton Recreation Area.     • SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH: SHOE DRIVE AT ZUKEY LAKE TAVERN: Country Elementary and Navigator Upper Elementary PTO is having a shoe drive at Zukey Lake Tavern on Sunday, February 26, from 4 to 8 PM. If you bring in a pair of gently used or new shoes you will receive 20% off your food bill. The schools will receive $0.40 per pound of shoes we collect and the shoes will be repurposed to people in developing nations. The money we raise helps us pay for educational school assemblies, fun family events, new technology resources and computers for our students. The more shoes the better!
    • SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH: CHORALE ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION: The Livingston County Chorale family continues its commitment to support vocal education and reward some of our finest high school singers through this annual scholarship competition. Financial scholarships will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners. This annual event encourages aspiring young singers to pursue careers in music and gives them the opportunity to perform and display their talents. The event is Sunday, February 26th, at 3pm at the First United Methodist Church of Howell. Students interested in the competition may secure the application form from our LCC website. More information can be gathered from your area choir teacher or voice teacher. Applicants must have their forms submitted no later than February 13, Come and join us to see some of the best young vocal talent in Livingston County. Web Link: http://livingstoncountychoirs.com/
    • SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH: LIVINGSTON COUNTY CONCERT BAND WINTER CONCERT: The Livingston County Concert Band annual Winter Concert is Sunday, February 26th at 3pm. The free concert will be held at the Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center at Howell High School. This concert includes a variety of music. Donations will be accepted.     • MONDAY, FEBRUARY 27TH - "ZENTANGLE" WORKSHOP AT HAMBURG LIBRARY: Zentangle (FEE: $5 to instructor) Workshop at Hamburg Township Library on Monday, February 27 @ 6:30pm. Whether you are a Zentangle expert or you have never 'tangled' before, join us for a fun night of this creative and relaxing art form. Certified Zentangle Teachers Anna Hodges Oginksy and Kathleen Hodges will lead participants through many different patterns and techniques.
    • TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 28TH: LAND PROTECTION EFFORTS IN LIVINGSTON COUNTY AREA: An informal meeting on land protection efforts in Howell and the county will be given by the Livingston Land Conservancy at the Howell Carnegie Library from 7-8:30pm. If you are a land owner seeking to protect your land, are looking for general information, or just have an interest in land protection, please come to the meeting. Open to the public; light refreshments will be served.
    • TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 28TH: FARMER EDUCATION DAY: Livingston County Farm Bureau and Livingston Conservation District will be hosting their Annual Farmer Education Day on Tuesday, February 28th, at the Marion Township Hall, 2877 W Coon Lake Rd, in Howell. The event is from 8:30am-2pm. Restricted use pesticide credits will be available to attendees who stay through the entire program. Topics to be covered include: MAEAP verification, WOTUS updates, best practices to keep soil sedimentation out of the drains, analysis and control of soybean cyst nematode, analysis of the 2016 corn nitrogen trials, and farm safety. Lunch will be catered by Showerman Family Cooking. There is no charge for the event, but a free will donation will be accepted to help cover the cost of lunch.     • FRIDAY, MARCH 3RD: LENTEN FISH FRY AT ST MARY'S: The Men's Club of St Mary's Catholic Parish in Pinckney annual Fish Dinners are held every Friday evening during Lent. The dates are March 3rd-31st and April 7th. The Parish is located south of M-36 at 10601 Dexter Pinckney Road in Putnam Township. Dinner is served from 4pm-7pm and includes baked or beer battered fried fish, choice of French fries, scalloped or baked potato, beets, coleslaw, homemade macaroni & cheese, cut vegetables, jell-o, homemade rolls & dessert, assorted beverages as well as 3 cheese pizzas for our younger guests. Cost is $10 adults, $9 seniors, $5 children (under age 12) with a family (immediate only) plan available at $35. Bankcards are accepted and take outs are available!     • SATURDAY, MARCH 4TH: SELCRA DADDY/DAUGHTER DANCE AT BHS: Selcra is hosting their 28th annual Daddy/Daughter Dance at Brighton High School from 6pm-8:30pm. This event drew over 1,300 participants last year. Every girl receives a gift. The night will be filled with dancing, photos, 3,000 balloon drop, and unforgettable lasting memories.     • SUNDAY, MARCH 5TH: ST. MARY COUNTRY STYLE BREAKFAST: St Mary Country Style Breakfast is March 5th. Breakfast is served 8:30-11am and is a free-will donation. Proceeds will be used to help support on going Parish kitchen projects. They welcome DJ Cousin Mikey and his Rockin' Oldies Road Show to spin hits from the 50's, 60's & 70's.     • SUNDAY, MARCH 5TH: TURKEY SHOOT AT LCWCC:  Turkey shoot open to the public on Sunday, March 5th, at the Livingston County Wildlife and Conservation Club, in Hamburg. Doors open at noon, selling begins at 12:30pm, shooting at 1:00pm. They pay first and second places. Bring your shotgun, they supply the ammunition. Kitchen is open. Raffles & 50/50.     • SATURDAY, MARCH 11TH: LIVINGSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA WINTER CONCERT: Livingston Symphony Orchestra Winter Concert is Saturday, March 11th at 7pm st Brighton Nazarene Church.     • SATURDAY, MARCH 11TH: HOCKEY NIGHT IN BRIGHTON: Hockey Night at The Kensington Valley Ice House in Brighton is March 11th. The game will feature Detroit Red Wing Alumni benefiting 4 Livingston County kids organizations: Shop with a Cop, ARC of Livingston, Reaching Higher, and North Star Reach. Tickets available at thewellmi.com or by calling 248-515-3864. Game time is 1:30pm. Tickets are $10 for general admission, and $60 for VIP, which includes the game and dinner.
    • SATURDAY, MARCH 11TH: PINCKNEY ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE: The 13th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at noon on Saturday, March 11th on Main Street. Activities begin at 11am with the Cutest Leprechaun Contest for children ages 5 and under, Irish Dancers on Main Street & the 9th Annual Paddy Wagon Bed Race. Parade Grand Marshall is Dr. Mary B. Killeen. The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians will have a booth on the corner of Main St. with homemade Irish Bread and other delicious baked goods for sale along with hot drinks.
    • SATURDAY, MARCH 11TH: ALWAYS HOPE ANIMAL RESCUE COMEDY NIGHT FUNDRAISER AT CAMPTAIN JOE'S: The Always Hope Animal Rescue Comedy Night Fundraiser is Saturday, March 11th at 8:30pm at Captain Joe's in Whitmore Lake. Tickets are still just $20 each. Always Hope Animal Rescue is a non profit 501c3 rescue group run by volunteers. 100% of the profits raised go to the direct care of the animals.
